Yes. And not just "something". Something AMAZING!!!
This is a song that was recorded this week in Brooklyn, NY. A modern day lama putting a twist on an ancient prayer from the practice of transferring the consciousness at the time of death.
"Doing what, when?" you might ask.
Well, as we all know... there is not a person in history (to date) that has not, at SOME point during their life... died. Well, except of course those of us who are ALIVE. But none of us expects to be the first person to live forever. (If you do think that applies to you, click off this blog... go to YAHOO! or GOOGLE or some search engine and type in "delusional" or perhaps "local therapist" and we'll catch up with you later!) But since everything alive will eventually be... well, NOT so alive anymore... doesn't it make sense to have a prayer that is "geared" towards that event in ones life that is GUARANTEED! (I mean.. you may or may not have a wedding, have a child, have a college degree... but we all will have a date with destiny one day...)
Anyhow, even I the lowly hound of the blogosphere understand that you humans have a precious opportunity by having been born AS HUMANS! You can control your lives in a way that most sentient beings (living things with senses) cannot. One way you could help us dogs (or cats or gerbils or whatever other beings you care for) is to play this prayer for us. It is FREE!!! You can download it.. or you can get a free CD (though you will have to pay a little for shipping.)
BUT let me repeat... it is FREE!! As in you don't have to scrape around under your car seat for loose change like when you want a "Big N Tasty" from the dollar menu at McDonald's! (Huh? Oh... okay.. Chris has just informed me that the particular behavior described here is something that he does... but most people needn't resort to such measures to purchase a value menu item.)
